The redevelopment of The Electric Theatre aims to kickstart a new lease of life into Guildford town centre. Retaining the typology as a theatre with community facilities, the venue intends to keep the community at the heart of the project. The theatre will function as a gateway building, creating a focal point for the town centre.
In alignment with the Guildford regeneration strategy, the site will enhance the riverside area improving the atmosphere of a declining area. Modern construction materials and techniques will be implemented to create a future proof building, with a keen focus on sustainable construction methods.
