Pushing the boundaries of modern design, smart technology and innovation, the D.L.M.C Centre (Debdale Library & Multi-Cultural Centre) is designed to be a gateway Building in the Suburban area Gorton. As Manchester diversifies, it is imperative to present the opportunity for community cohesion, which will inspire a more peaceful, respectable environment for the residents of Gorton.
A design derived from the overlapping of books, represents the different groups of society being united within the same structure as one. The design implements various sustainable approaches to minimise the energy consumption of the
building, whilst fortifying the comfort of the occupants within.
